Q -I have combination skin. The T zone is oily and rest of the face is dry. I use medicated cream but without any positive result. When the humidity level goes up, it becomes difficult for me to apply cream as it gets too oily. Is there any face wash or soap to clean skin and keep it moisturized?

A- Use face wash for oily skin twice a day, maximum three times if you are going out. No cream should be used. Replace them with water based lotion or a gel. Use moisturizers for acne prone skin as they are not heavy.

Q-When I was in college my skin was fine but now there is discolouration. Facial has helped a lot but there is still scar left on my face. How can this be treated?

A- Depends on cause of pigmentation, based on that go ahead with the treatment. Firstly get it analysed. Till then use a sunscreen every morning.

Q-I get tanned easily and sunscreen also doesn’t work. Also, I have open pores. What should be done?

A- Open pores happen when the oil production is too much. Use oil controlling cream and the right kind of sunscreen depending on your skin type. If you go for oily sunscreen then naturally you will use less quantity due to which you will keep getting tanned so avoid such sunscreens.

Q- I have major problem of facial hair. It grows back after every 15 days. I do threading frequently but is there any other option?

A- Laser hair removal is the safest way to reduce this problem but should be done correctly. It helps to get rid of coarse hair and fine hair becomes less in number so you don’t have to go for threading all the time.

Q-I have pigmentation on my back. Apart from laser, how can this be dealt?

A- There are creams for removing pigmentation but the problem with cream is it doesn’t easily gets penetrated as the back skin is thick. It does absorb but is less effective than laser.

Q- I spend lot of hours in front of computer as its part of my work due to which there is formation of dark circles under my eyes. I can’t give up my work but I also want to get rid of these dark circles. Kindly suggest what to do?

A- The computer should have screen guard to reduce reflection of light and it gets less taxing for your eyes. After every 15 to 20 minutes, remove your gaze from computer. Keep moving your eyes as it will relax you. Drink lot of water and rub your eyes to improve blood circulation.
