When it comes to the hair look of Indian women, what is your say?
I think here in India women have too much of hair on their scalp. I mean, your hair are pretty dense as compared to any other women in west. This makes the job of a hair expert tougher. Indian women are a challenge to us as we need to work hard on creating the looks considering the density of hair.
So, what is your suggestion for women here who are generally reluctant when it comes to the use of scissors on their locks?
Well, they must try different cuts and lengths. The hair will always look good whatever the length is, if the quality of your curls is good. What is important is to maintain a healthy hair rather than going rigid about length. Long hair do look good but there is not enough scope for a hair dresser if you don’t allow his to chop your locks!
When it comes to hair colour, we have seen the craze specially in young girls? What all are the pros and cons?
Since I have worked with Lady GaGa and I know the kind of experiments she does, i would say that you must try colours on your hair, but at the same make sure to follow the after care as well. Use the products recommended by your expert. If you are a teenager or in your early 20’s, go for highlight styles rather than colouring your hair from roots.
What all colours you feel will look good on India skin tone?
There is immense scope of playing with browns right from lightest tone to the darkest one. Maroons, burgundy can be tried without giving it a second thought. Blonde, is an experiment so one should be careful as it has a lot to do with skin colour.
Can you tell us about the current hair styles that are globally in trend?
Today, there are no particular hair styles followed. Hair and the looks have gone more personal these days. Someone in the west might be a bob cut follower, and here in India you might like to go for layers or step cut. Unless women start taking their hair style in a more creative way in terms of experiment, the hair looks more or less will be similar.
