Arrival of monsoon increases our desire for fried snacks with a cup of hot tea and while taking stroll near your house, ignoring those food street stalls is difficult. They surely satisfy our taste buds but soon cause trouble to our body. These can be in the form of stubborn pimples or upset stomach or severe diseases in the long run. So why to have them when there are healthier options?

Garlic- Garlic might have an extremely strong unpleasant smell but due to its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial preoperties, it is now used as an ingredient in anti-acne products. When added to dishes, it not only increases the taste of the dish but also wards off the germs keeping  our body healthy.

Turmeric- Also known as Haldi in India,is one of the most common spices use in beauty treatments. Many would be brides are seen applying it to get a glow on their skin and even the skin tone. When consumed it helps in fighting against germs. It controls heartburns and indigestion. Thus, consuming 1gm of haldi everyday is very effective for maintaining good health by keeping the diseases at bay. You can either mix it with milk to get benefits of milk as well or add few drops of water to it, roll it in balls and swallow it.

Ginger- As ginger has anti-oxidant properties, it helps to slow the process of aging which means formation of wrinkles gets delayed. Apart from giving pleasant breath, it also helps in digestion.  To cure headaches, have a cup of tea with ginger in it and soon it will relax you. If tea is not your favourite beverage, you can make a paste of ginger and put it in your food while preparing it.

Honey- To keep dryness away from your skin or hair, honey serves as great emollient. That's why they can be found in soaps, face wash, cream and other grooming products. It also forms an excellent tonic for keeping your intestine sterile. It prevents infections and also aids in digestion process to carry out it's functions properly and effectively. Stomach ulcers heal better with honey. Have trouble sleeping? Take one to two tablespoon of honey and the next day you will feel rested as you will complete sleeping hours without any interruption. Follow it up in morning with a glass of warm water to detoxify the body. With toxins out of the way, nothing can stop you from looking gorgeous!
