Opening a new chapter within the realm of Indian fashion, FDCI announced the launch of its new fashion initiative - Pearls Delhi Couture Week from 20-25 July 2010 to be held at The Grand. Breaking the barrier of regions and working across geographies, India's leading couturiers will showcase their collections on the ramp and through installations. Pearls Delhi Couture Week is backed by title sponsor Pearls Group, and partners like the award winning Signature brand from United Spirits and P7. Pearls Delhi Couture Week draws extraordinary talent from the hallmarks of Indian fashion and designers who bring with them creativity and commercial viability.
Welcoming the sponsor and partners and designers, said Mr. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, "The Pearls Delhi Couture Week is another important milestone for the fashion industry as we bring the best couturiers to create an exclusive platform in the wake of increasing demand for this segment . With the onset of the 'great Indian wedding' and 'the grand festivals of India', the time is ripe for an event of such a magnitude, as the fashion industry witnesses maximum sales and large scale orders. With the first edition, I believe that the confidence and trust of our sponsors and partners will grow stronger as we move forward towards our primary agenda - the grand celebration of Indian fashion."

"You can do Couture in a really natural way, it should not or may not be bridal always. The best possible way in which we can make a garment is perfection in fashion, high stitches, and hand made designs, this is what we are aiming at." Adds Rohit Bal
"Couture is a much bigger term, than Bridal. Bridal is a part of Couture." Adds Gaurav Gupta.
" Taro is the theme for all the shows we are doing this season." Quotes Puneet representing Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
