When our hair looks all dull mostly due to environmental factors, we rush to a near by store and get our hands on hair care products which would help to bring back our locks’ sheen. The same goes for our nails. Once we see them losing luster, we get our hands and feet manicured and pedicured and the end result is radiant skin with nails covered in colours with high shine. Glitter or high shine nail lacquers are loved by all but nail enamel sans the shine are no less eye-catching! “Matte nail enamel has caught every female’s glimpse internationally and the same trend can be seen now in India! Capitalizing on it Avon has launched its Matte Nail Enamel collection which emphasizes on this season’s essential gunmetal palette and jewel tones ensuring your nails are bang on trend for 2011,” says Swati Pal, Director – Marketing, Avon India. Inglot, Revlon, Street Wear also have nail enamels with matte finish and so does OPI which has interesting names like Lincoln Park After Dark, Russian Navy and You Don’t Know Jacques. As we all want things to be done quickly, matte nail paint is just for us as these dry rapidly leaving behind alluring colour with matte finish on our nails. Avon’s Matte Nail Enamel Violetta appears velvety. Apart from the flat matte finish, what makes matte nail paint different from the shiny one is the speed of drying up. It is said that the longer the drying time, the higher the gloss and the shorter the drying time, the lower the gloss. By the time you are done with application, you will have dry and velvety nails with attractive violet colour. So you don’t have to sit and wait for your nails to dry up for long. But as promised by the brand, this does not stay for three complete days. On the first day itself you will see it chipping without using your hands for any rough work! Though the colour and finish look fab on my nails, I have to frequently reach out for this nail enamel to redo it. Use it only for an evening gathering unless and until you have the patience to re-paint your nails again and again on the same day! If violet is not your colour, go for other shades like grey or blue or black. Matte nail paints can be applied singularly or you can even play with different colours as each brand has a lot to offer in terms of colours. What’s more? There are matte top coats as well which can turn shiny nail polish to matte finish on your nails! |
